Marlen J. Gardner, 67, of Byron, died Thu, Apr 6, 1995, at the Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso. 

Mr. Gardner was a self-employed building contractor. Previous to becoming a builder, he was co-owner and operator  of the G&G Disposal of Bancroft. 

Mr. Gardner was born in Racine, WI, on Jun 23, 1927, the son of Oral and Annie (Olson) Gardner. He had resided in the Byron area since 1955, moving to Byron from Lowell. 

On Dec 21, 1946, he and Ada Burns were married in Manton. 

Mr. Gardner served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Eugene Kimbel Post #7806 in Manton, member of the Byron Lodge #80 F & A.M., a regular with the morning coffee gang in Byron and a former member of the Bancroft Lions Club. 

Survivors include: his wife, Ada; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Pam) Warner of Howell, Mrs. Randy (Molly) Camp of Byron, Mrs. Jeff (Shelley) Warner of Byron; nine grandchildren, Wendi, Don Jr, Chad, Carey, Casey, Courtney ,Clint, Brandy, and Michael; three great grandchildren, Caitlin, Audra, and Morgan; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Zierk, Mrs. Ida Rotkowski both of Racine, WI, Mrs. Doris Caul of Tallahassee, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mr. Gardener was predeceased by his parents, seven brothers and one sister. 

Memorial donations are suggested to either the Byron Area Ambulance Service or to the First United Methodist Church of Byron.
