Polansky, Marjorie Joy

In Memory of
Marjorie Joy (Revell) Polansky

BIRTH: 28 Sep 1933

DEATH: 20 Sep 2010 , James City, Virginia

Marjorie Joy Polansky passed away peacefully on Mon, Sep 20, 2010, after a long courageous, graceful battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Raised in Pectonville, MD, she was the daughter of Frank and Hazel Revell. She graduated from Clearspring High School and from Hagerstown Business College, working as a secretary at Potomac Edison Electric Co. prior to marriage.

She married Andrew Polansky on Jun 16, 1957, and devoted her entire life to her husband and two children. Nothing came before them, loving them unequivocally and finding complete fulfillment in doing so. She enjoyed the simple things in life, was inordinately kind and compassionate and enjoyed helping others. She won several tennis championships, and loved all kinds of music.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Andrew Polansky, who selflessly and joyfully cared for her the last 12 years; her son, Matthew Polansky and his wife Shelly, and their two children, Abigail and Peter; and daughter, Sonia Purkey and her husband, Danny. She also left behind two brothers, Larry and Freddy Revell and their families; and two sisters, Peggy Wiley and Judy Schwartz and their families.

The family will receive friends and family on Sat, Sep 25, from 10 to 11 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. A celebration of life will follow at noon at the Kingspoint Club House, Williamsburg. Interment will be private at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Williamsburg Alzheimer’s Association or Heartland Hospice.
