Marie Marcella Hardy, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away on Tuesday, Aug 13, 2002 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Oct 30, 1917, in Wakefield, the daughter of Michael and Marie (MacDonald) Muma.
Marcella married Robert E Hardy on Jan 14, 1941. Marcella graduated from East Jordan High School and continued her education at Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant where she received her bachelor's degree. She was a resident of Kalkaska since 1957. She taught at Eastern Elementary School in Traverse City until 1979 when she retired. Marcella was a member of St Mary of the Woods and the Eve Club of Kalkaska.
Marcella is survived by her loving family including her children Bob (Carol) Hardy of Park City, UT, Peter Hardy of Kalkaska, and Mary Heim of Kalkaska; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Visitation was on Fri with a scripture service at Wolfe Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church on Sat, Aug 17. The Rev Jim Holtz officiated. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in behalf of Marcella Hardy to Munson Hospice.
