Margaret Lavina Wilks was born in Ohio, in the year 1849 and died in Springfield, Michigan, March 17, 1912. She was married to Alonzo Wilks at Johnston, Michigan, December 18, 1872. About twelve years ago they moved to Springfield, Mich., where she resided till God took her to dwell with Him in glory. About twenty years ago she was converted and united with the M.E. church at Cleveland, Ohio. She lived a consistent Christian life and died in the triumphs of the living faith. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, one sister, a mother, and six brothers, beside a host of friends. The funeral was held at the U.B. Church at Springfield. Rev. M. McQuay took for her text Luke 8-52, "Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth."
