Mrs. Margaret G. Mathers, 89, of Kalkaska, died Friday, Sept 14, 1990 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Mathers had been a resident of Kalkaska since 1984 moving from Boyne City, where she had lived from 1925 until 1984. Also, she had lived several years in Alba.
She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and fishing. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Boyne City.
On Nov 19, 1900 in Freesoil, she was born to Charles and Gertrude (Shagonaby) Lewis. She was united in marriage to James Mathers on Nov 16, 1923 in Boyne City, and he preceded her in death in 1952.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, George De Verney, Ben De Verney, and Theodore De Verney; two sisters, Josephine Muma and Lucy Van Camp.
She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Kleeman of Bellaire, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept 16, 1990 at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona wit Rev. Patrick Barrett officiating. Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Boyne City.
A scripture service was held Saturday evening, Sept 15 at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona.
