Lyle "Pops" Harmon, 80, of Bellaire, went to be with the Lord on Sat, Sep 30, 1995, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. 

He was born on Jul 2, 1915, in Morley, the son of William and Rosella (VanHoughton) Harmon. He grew up in Charlotte. On May 17, 1937, in Indiana, he married Lillian DeGroot. He was a Baptist minister and served congregations in Michigan during his career. He also was an accomplished stone mason and farmer. 

He loved people and enjoyed many hobbies. Fishing with Lillian was one of his favorite pastimes. Bear hunting seemed to be his favorite hunting season. 

As a member of several hunting associations, he enjoyed many types of hunting. The woods were his haven and he spent many hours exploring on his ATV. 

He was also a pilot and loved taking family and friends for rides in his plane. 

Lyle was a member of the Mancelona Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Harmon; children Evonne Harmon of Corpus Christi, TX; Carol Chisholm and her husband, Don, of Bellaire; Lyle A. Harmon and his wife Cheryl of White Lake; Rosalinn Schwartz and her husband Al of Lapeer, and Ranelle Wiltse and her husband Bill of Ellsworth; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and brother Earl Harmon of Vermontville. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. 

A Home Going service was held Oct 3 at the Mancelona Baptist Church. Pastor Ray Roach officiated with interment following at Fairview Cemetery, Bellaire. 

Memorials may be given to Mancelona Baptist Church or Northern Michigan Hospital Hospitality House.
