Louis LaPan, of Union Grove, WI and formerly of Saginaw, MI, passed away on Aug 11, 2020 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home – Boland Hall at the age of 93 ½ years old. Louis was born on Dec 21, 1926, to the late Goerge and Laura LaPan. He married Mary (Jean) White on May 17, 1963.
Louis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines, serving in WWII. He was a member of the Eagles Club #497, American Legion Post #439, the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization, the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Jean Kowalsky, Susan LaChapelle (Ben St. Pierre), Wendy Howard, Lynda Sucharski; brother, Dave LaPan; daughter in law, Laurie White. Louis was preceded in death by his sons, Hunter, Mike, and John White; sons in law, Martin Kowalksy and Warren Howard; daughter in law, Correy White; brothers, George and Jack LaPan; sisters, Faye Hall, Yula Honeman, Sally Lisik, and Betty Porritt; sisters in law, Pat and Mary LaPan; brothers in law, Lyle Hall, Bill Honeman, Joe Lisik, and Don Porritt.
Visitation will be held at Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, on Wed, Aug 19, 2020 from 11 am to 12 pm, with funeral services beginning at 12 pm. Burial with full military honros will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
