Lois Gene Daniels, 81, passed away at home Feb 26, 2004, in Fairbanks, Alaska, due to heart and lung failure.
Lois was born Feb 16, 1923, in Moorestown. Her father, Rev. Rolland Charles Puffer, and mother, Ethel Susanna Puffer, raised Lois throughout Michigan as their ministry with the Methodist Church led them.
She earned a masters degree in education throughout her career as an elementary teacher for Michigan Schools. She was a teacher for 33 years, retiring in 1978. After retirement, she moved to Florida where she resided in sunshine for 20 years. She moved to Fairbanks in 1999, when her health became an issue, to live with her son, David, and his wife, Pat. After moving to Fairbanks, she became involved with her son's church, First United Pentecostal Church, and was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost.
After such a long and arduous illness, she was longing to join her Lord Jesus. She is already missed greatly and our turn to join her will come soon.
Lois was raised with her sister, Rowena Davenport and brothers, Lloyd and Jack Puffer. She loved fishing, traveling, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family, and friends. In the two weeks before her passing, she was blessed with a visit from grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; husbands, Robert Sherfield and Fred Daniels; great nephew, Michael Wicker, and nephew, Michael Puffer.
Survivors include her sister, Rowena Davenport of Rockledge, FL; sisters in law, Jean Huffman of Brandenton, FL, Vi Puffer of Cocoa, FL, and Grace King of Carlisle, PA; son and daughter in law, DAvid and Patricia Cronwall of Fairbanks, AK; step sons, Scott Sherfield of Grayling, Fred and Helen Daniels of Millerplace, NY; step daughter, Eugene and Jeannie Morgan of Hicksville, NY; grandchildren and great grandchildren, David and Keri Cornwall and their children, Bret and Seth of Greenland, AR, Christopher Cornwall and Leeanna Hopkins and their children, Haley and Christina Cornwall of Mt Home, AR, Paul and Heather Harrison and their children, Lorien and Hunter of Fairbanks, , Benjamin Harrison of Ft Lewis, WA, Angel and Jimmie Rose and their children, Alexis and Tarrance of Wylie, TX, and adopted grandson, Mark Patterson of Los Angeles, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Kevin Willis will officiate at a Memorial Service on Sat, Aug 7, at 2 pm in the Spencer Church of Christ. Fellowship and food at the Puffer Farm, 3877 Spencer Rd, SE, will be held after the service for family and friends.
