Lillian Anita MacLean-Vandersys of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Jun 28, 2019 at her home with her children at her side. She was born Jan 2, 1943 to Elmer and Gladys (Maitland) Hirt. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her family and her little dog Sassy. She enjoyed playing cards, being outdoors, and trips to the casino.
She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Charlie) Peller, Cheryl McLeod, Wallace (Cathy) MacLean Jr, and Thomas (Danielle Cradduck) MacLean; a brother: Thomas (Patricia) Hirt; and grandchildren: Jammie (Patrick) Romeri, Cynthia Gardner, Susan (Craig) Grambau, Kevin (Christina) Parmentier, Kelsey MacLean, Melissa MacLean, Emily MacLean, Thomas MacLean, Brianna MacLean and 13 great grandchildren. She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by her first husband: Wallace Hugh MacLean, Sr, and second husband: Robert William Vandersys “Bobby V”, her parents: Elmer and Gladys Hirt, brothers: Albert, George, Ronald, and Donald, sister: Annetta Georgevich and a grandson: Michael James Peller.
Lillian was a foster mom to many children throughout her years as a foster parent. Many of those children have remained in contact with her throughout her retirement years and have fond memories of life at Lil’s house.
