Lewis Marcell Yoder, 82, a resident of Kalkaska County for over 52 years, died Tue, Apr 2, 1996, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. 

He was employed by the C & O Railroad for 26 years, but retired in 1970 due to illness. He was a member of the B.M.W.E. Railroad Union for 50 years. He was a Life Charter Member of the Torch Lake Grange #1840 of Antrim County. He served in WWII, and enjoyed his family and gardening. 

He was born in Vicksburg, MI to Irvin Edward and Caroline (Reed) Yoder on Aug 16, 1913. He was united in marriage to Myrtle F. Sutton in South Boardman, on May 27, 1944. 

Surviving are seven children, Jeannette Milligan of Rapid City, Louis D and Laura Yoder of Alma, William L and Doris Brown of Grand Rapids, Howard and Mary Richards of Mancelona, Irvin and Cherie Yoder of Dallas, OR, Robert and Helen Yoder of Kalkaska and Larry and Lori Czubak of Traverse City; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Lawrence Kimball of Mesick and two sisters, Mary Martinson of South Boardman and Ethel Fowler of Traverse City. 

One daughter, Marlene K Zeman preceded him in death in Jun 1990, as did two grandsons Michael Allen Milligan in 1970 and Hutcherson Edward Yoder in 1991. Also preceded in him in death were his parents; three brothers, Charles, Sheridan and Arthur; and one sister, Hazel. 

Funeral services were held Sat., Apr 6, 1996, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Jerry Rupe officiated. Burial will be in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County. 

Military services were held under the auspices of Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684.
