Letha V. Kahle-Wilder, 86, Whitehouse, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003, in her home with her family at her side.
Letha was born to James B. (Bert) and Edith (Whiton) Kahle on July 15, 1916, in Delta. She graduated from Delta High School in 1934. Letha married Mitchell Wilder on Sept. 23, 1937, in Napoleon.
She went to work after her children became teenagers, working at Campbell Soup, Pilliod Cabinet Company, and Miller Fireworks. Her hobbies were growing flowers and vegetables, and baking. She was known to many as “granny.” She is survived by her children, Carol Mullins (Frank) of Whitehouse, Sally Pilliod (Tom) of Swanton, Richard Wilder of Toledo, and Rita Bellmore of Swanton; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by Mitch, her husband of 36 years in 1973; parents, sister, Frieda Kahle; and daughter, Donna Houser Fewlas. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 1, at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, with Pastor Mike Dachenhaus officiating.
Burial followed at Lyons Cemetery in Lyons.
