Leta M Applebee, 105, of Kalkaska passed away on May 17, 2002, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Long Term Care. She was born Mar 9, 1897 in Kalkaska, the daughter of Roderick and Esther (Huffman) Jones. 

Leta lived in Kalkaska until 1918 when she moved to Flint and married Walter S Muchler in Apr 1918. She was a nurse and worked at Hurley Hospital until she retired in 1961. Walter passed away in Dec of 1955. Leta married Glen Applebee in 1958 and the returned to Kalkaska in 1969. Leta was a member of Peoples Church and Rebekah Lodge, both in Kalkaska. 

Leta is survived by her loving family, including her children: Mildred Hall of Belleville, Bernice Bryce of LA, elizabeth Write of National City, Burton L Muchler of Vasser, and Carl (Donna) Muchler of Traverse City; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. 

Leta was preceded in death by husband Walter Muchler in Dec 1955 and her second husband Glen Applebee in 1975; and her brother Earl Thompson. 

Visitation was May 20 at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted on May 21 at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Karges of the Peoples Church officiated. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery.
