Lenore Klassen, age 49 of Gladwin went to heaven on Apr 25, 2004 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1954 in Corry, Pennsylvania to Lyle and Margaret Crowell Blakeslee. Lenore married Gary Klassen on October 6, 1973 in Corry, Penn. She has lived in Gladwin County since then.
Lenore was employed by Gladwin Hospital for 28 years as an LPN, RN and discharge planner, and in utilization review.
She attended Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church where she has been very active in children’s ministry for many years.
Surviving are her husband Gary, one son, Erick (Michelle) Klassen of Midland; one daughter, Heidi Klassen, a student at MSU; three sisters, Lura (Tom) Shuttlesworth of Leesburg, Flor., Leah and Frank Klassen of Eaton Rapids, and Beth and Paul Klassen of Alger; her mother, Margaret Blakeslee of Eaton Rapids; and ten nieces, four nephews, four great nieces and four great nephews. She was predeceased by her father Lyle Blakeslee, one niece and one nephew.
Services will be held at 11am on Wed, Apr 28 at the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Thomspon officiating. Burial will be in Butman Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church.
