Lawrence E. Strine, 57, died Tue, Dec 8, 1998, at his home in Mancelona.
He was born May 16, 1941, in Ypsilanti, the son of Lenard Earl and Genevieve (Arend) Strine. On Aug 13, 1982, in Ann Arbor, he married Paula Smith.
Lawrence worked as a mechanic for 11 years for Ford Motor Company in Rawsonville, 22 years at Ann Arbor Muffler in Ann Arbor, and 13 years in the parts department at Kalkaska Ford. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Masonic Lodge 262, F & AM and the Shrine's Moslem Temple in Detroit. He enjoyed hunting, gun ammunition reloading, and gardening.
He is survived by wife Paula Strine of Mancelona; children Robin Porter and Larry Strine, both of Whitmore Lake; stepchildren James Theyken of San Diego, CA and Geoffrey Theyken of Kalamazoo; granddaughters Wendy Strine, Chelsea Strine and Haley Strine; and sister Betty (Robert) Millspaugh of Ypsilanti.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dale Strine and Donald Strine.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Memorials may be given to Munson Hospice, Traverse City. The family was served by the Paullin-Penzien Funeral Home in Mancelona.
