Lawrence A. (Dude) Pelon, Sr, 79, died at his residence in Kalkaska County on the Big Manistee River Tue, Jul 11, 1995. 

Lawrence was born Sep 5, 1915 in Grand Haven to August and Mable Flagstead Pelon. 

He was a former chaplain of the Order of Eagles #3465, Grayling for a number of years and a life member of the Muskegon Elks. He was also active in Boy Scouts in Whitehall. Lawrence "Dude" was a well-known left handed pitcher. He played baseball throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois for 30 years, ending his career in 1960. He was also noted as an avid fisherman. 

He is survived by his wife Edith. Also surviving are his children: Lawrence A. (Carrie) Pelon Jr of Lowell, and Margaret Anne (George) Custer of Fife Lake; one brother Ray of Muncy, PA, one sister Margaret of Shelby; five stepchildren, eight step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Anne Lowe. 

Services were held Jul 18 at Bear Lake Christian Church.
