Lavirn G. Schoenemann, 71, of South Boardman, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1990, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Saginaw. 

Mr. Schoenemann was a retired truck driver, and had lived in South Boardman since 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during WW 2, and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Mr. Schoenemann was born in Matteson, IL on April 2, 1918, son of the late George and Minnie Matthies Schoenemann. He was married on Nov 22, 1944, in Kalkaska, to Frances Hall who survives. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Wayne Schoenemann of Lakeland, FL, David Schoenemann of Mancelona, and Ted Schoenemann of Kalkaska; six daughters, Mary Jane Knowles of Okeechobee, FL, Loretta Buchner and Linda Underhill both of Rapid City, Cindy Ramsey of Erie, and Lora Mihlbach and Leona Martinson both of South Boardman; two brothers, Arthur Schoenemann of Buchanan, and Dan Schoenemann of Buckner, MO; three sisters, Ann Reid and Georgetta Williamson both of Buchanan, and Pauline McWhirter of Lake Station, IN; 20 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by one son, Lavirn Jr, and one grandson, Robert Schoenemann. 

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 17, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. James Moody, pastor of the Fife Lake Baptist Church, officiated. Burial will be in Boardman Township Cemetery.
