Laramie Richard Nolff (Dad) took his final sunset Harley ride on April 23, 2023, with the love of his life, Rachel Nolff, alongside him. Tragically, an accident resulted in his immediate death. His family, friends, and community mourn the loss of a unique soul who cannot be replaced and will never be forgotten.
Laramie was born in Traverse City, Michigan, to Larry and Laurie Nolff, and welcomed by big sister, Alana. Merley 9 months later, the family welcomed another brother, Aaron. With contrasting personalities, Aaron and Laramie complimented each other and grew up side by side. In 1989, the family relocated to Fife Lake, Michigan, where Laramie became a legend in the community.
Laramie marched to the beat of his own drum. He was creative, curious, and never accepted anything at face value. He was also wildly funny, entertaining, and fearless. These traits often landed him in trouble, but also made him very impactful in the lives of others. Friends and family treasure countless memories of fun and adventure with Laramie, including skipping school to enjoy the sunshine, jumping into the Manistee River, learning how to drive, hanging out at the beach, sinking karaoke, and laughing until it hurt. Laramie’s ingenuity brought a fresh perspective, which he was always willing to offer as advice, as he was known for his long and deep conversations.
Laramie was strong, athletic, competitive, and a true outdoorsman. He often impressed others with his athleticism, and could be found on a court, lake, or golf course; hunting, on a motorcycle, or standing around a campfire making everyone laugh. Laramie would never turn down a dare or a bet, and if you bet against him, be prepared to pay up.
Laramie’s work ethic and leadership skills were some of his strongest assets. Even in his youth, he began working, building docks around Fife Lake. He found a career in the construction industry and is remembered as a valuable employee. A true jack of all trades, Laramie was tremendous at solving problems and finding solutions.
A fierce protector, Laramie’s greatest joy was found in taking care of those he loved. Anyone who messed with him, or his loved ones, better be ready to fight, literally and lose. His tender heart reached far and wide, always making those around him feel safe and protected. In 2006, he moved to Florida, where he met and fell in love with Rachel. The two were married June 28, 2008, and built their life in Ft. Myers, Florida. Laramie treasured his family and had a deep bond with his daughter, Triniti Nolff. He loved spending time going on adventures and making memories with them.
Laramie was preceded in death by grandparents, Gary Nolff, Richard, Sedlack, and Joyce Sedlack. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Nolff, children Trinity Nolff, Tayden Joseph, Trenton Talamantez, parents Larry and Laurie Nolff, brother Aaron (Alissa) Nolff, sister Alana (Steve) Hulwick, along with several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 6, from 12 PM – 2 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park in Ft Myers, Florida, and Sunday, May 21, from 2 PM – 6 PM at the Hulwick Event Center in Fife Lake, Michigan.
