Kurt S. Allen, was born on Apr 20, 1961 in Detroit, MI. He grew up in Shelby Twp and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1979. Kurt was a chef at the Rochester Elks, various restaurants and golf clubs, he was a big fan of music and at one time played guitar, piano and coronet. He moved to Indian River in 2006. Kurt enjoyed cooking, canoeing, kayaking and people. He was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie #4046 in Indian River.
Kurt is survived by his loving parents Carl and Myrna (Hohl); sister Carrie (Patrick) O’Brien; and nephews Nathan (Georgia) and Kevin O’Brien; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
The family will receive friends Sat, Sept 12, 2009, 10am until time of memorial service at 11am at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester. Inunrnment will follow at Christian Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice of the Straits.
