Kerry J Hammond (62) of Hollywood, FL courageously departed this life with the angels by his side on Fri, Mar 26 at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, FL.
Kerry was born in Hartford City, IN on Jan 9, 1959, graduated from East Kentwood High School in 1977 and attended Ferris State University.
Kerry was a man of many talents, one of which was the gift of selling medical equipment and supplies to area doctors and hospitals in the South Florida area where he built a successful career. He was very handy at home improvement projects and was a great cook. He loved serving delicious meals and entertaining his family and friends. He enjoyed playing sports throughout his life as well as watching and following them. Kerry was an outgoing people person who enjoyed the company of others. He was a special man to all who knew him, especially his family who will miss him terribly and will never forget him.
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Carole Hammond.
Kerry is survived by his children who he loved very much; Kayse Hammond (Michael Cooley) of Monticello, FL; Kyle (Jessica) Hammond of Jacksonville, FL; Klay Hammond of Grand Rapids, MI and the very special woman in his life for 23 years, Michele Morrison of Hollywood, FL. He leaves behind two beautiful grandchildren; Kaden Walsh and Kyle Hammond Jr. and is also survived by two siblings, Kathie (Ted) Vaughn of Caledonia, MI and Kevin (Teri) Hammond of Plainwell, MI; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nation Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD). The date for a Celebration of Life to be determined.
