Kathleen Jo Allen, 77, of Fife Lake, formerly a long time resident of Martinsville, OH, passed away on May 8, 2018. Kathleen was born on July 6, 1940 in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter to the late Joseph R. and Loretta (Murray) Kurtz. She will be forever remembered for her generosity, independent nature, and strong willed personality. Kathleen enjoyed staying busy: whether it was crafting or gardening, going antiquing or making afghans, watching westerns and QVC, or making a "damn good pie". Most of all though, she loved her family unconditionally and treasured laughing together. Kathleen will be severely missed by her family and friends; especially her children: Kari Lynn (Kelly Malone) Kitchen, Kristi Jo Kitchen, Thomas Joseph (Karen) Kitchen, and Susanne Kay (Mark) Dunham; step children: David (Barbara) Allen, Carol (Robin) Barnes, and Debbi (Glen) Roache; grandchildren: Elise (Justin), Annie, Grant, and Drake; great grandchildren: Duncan and Boone; brother Joseph R. Kurtz; and her best friend Rose Ann Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence Allen, grandson Brant, and brother Richard Murray Kurtz. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
