Karen M Leach-Proffitt, 62, of Kalkaska, passed away Fri, Jun 20, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born Nov 7, 1945 the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Lakies) Leach.
Karen graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1964. She previously worked for RL Polk in Traverse City and in 1975 moved to Virginia. Karen attended The Peoples Church.
Surviving Karen is her mother, Mary of Kalkaska; her siblings, Bob (Rosalie) Leach of Brattlebro, VT, Allen (Jean) Leach of Kalkaska, Dennis (Pam) Leach of Williamsburg, and Mary Jo (Rev. David) Mix of Garrett, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her first husband Angelo Schatteragie and her second husband, James Proffitt.
A memorial service was held Mon, Jun 23 at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Reverend David Mix from the First Baptist Church in Garrett, IN officiated. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery.
