Judy Mae Titus, 63, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, passed away Aug 6, 2009.
She was born Mar 6, 1946, in Kalkaska, the daughter of the late Delbert and Arlie (Adkins) Root.
Judy married Russell E Titus on Feb 8, 1969, in Kalkaska. Together they raised their family, in addition to volunteering and participating in many community events.
Judy worked as a cosmetologist and owned Judy's Beauty shop for 40 years.
She was an active member of the Peoples Church for many years and attended the Kalkaska Church of Christ. Judy also belonged to the Academia Club and The Red Hat Society.
Her other activities included helping with the American Cancer Society, working at the food pantry, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Stacy L (Doug) Hicks, of Middleville, and Teresa L (Ken) Cavanaugh and Loriann R Dorman both of Kalkaska.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren; her sister, Doris E (James) Tufts, of Kalkaska, and many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.
Preceding Judy in death was her loving companion, husband and friend, Russ who passe don Mar 23, 2009, and her sister, Brenda Root.
Visitation was held Mon, Aug 10, from 2 to 4 pm - and again 6 to 8 pm - at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home.
The funeral service was Tue at 11 am at the funeral home. Dan Johnson, of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated the proceedings.
Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
