Mrs. Judith J. Fitzek, 59, of Gaylord, died Thu, Aug 29, 1996 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Fitzek was born, Oct 29, 1936 in Clinton, IA. She was raised in Kalkaska and was a graduate of Kalkaska High School, and a member of the school's National Honor Society. She went on to attend Ferris State University where she received her teaching degree. On Aug 17, 1957, in Gaylord she married Roy Fitzek. Together with her husband, they purchased and expanded the existing Nelson's Drug Store.
Mrs. Fitzek was a former member of the Zonta Club and St. Mary's Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her husband Roy, four children: Brad (Mary) Fitzek of Garland, TX, Joni (Bob) Manuszak of Mancelona, Jill (Herb) Jenkins of Gaylord and Ryan Fitzek of Gaylord; six grandchildren, her mother Frances Caswell of St. Louis, MI; one sister Sally Wilson of St. Louis, MI, and one brother Fred Barten of Grosse Isle.
Funeral services were held Mon, Sep 2, 1996 at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord.
