Joseph C. Landry, 87, of Kalkaska, died Mon, Mar 4, 1996. 

A retired chef, Mr. Landry moved to Kalkaska County in 1972, from Madison Heights. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, and was a member of the DAV and the VFW. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. 

Born in Ponturillant, Quebec, Canada on Aug 18, 1908, he was the son of Euger and Leda Landry. He married Arlie Root in Kalkaska on Oct 1, 1979. She survives. 

Also, surviving are one son, Ronald Landry of Detroit; two daughters, Mary Jacqueline Hart of South Boardman and Patricia Tanguay of Dumfries, VA; two stepdaughters, Doris Tuffts and Judy Titus both of Kalkaska; four brothers, Ronaldo, Renne, Jean Paul, and Raoul all of Quebec; two sisters, Yvette and Rose both of Quebec; and five grandchildren. 

No services are planned. 

Memorial contributions may be made to North Country Hospice in Kalkaska or Grand Traverse Area Hospice in Traverse City.
