John O. Francis, formerly of Ypsilanti, age 62, passed away Tue, Aug 2, 1994 in Lansing, MI. He was born Jan 7, 1932 in Ypsilanti, the son of Charles and Esther (Stachlewitz) Francis. He was a Computer Systems Analyst for the State of Michigan, a member of the Teacher’s Association for Physics, he attended the University of Michigan and was an avid outdoor Speed Runner. Survivors include: 2 sisters, Mrs. Helen (Michael) Marsh and Mrs. Marlene (Paul) Heil, both of Ypsilanti; 1 brother, Thomas Francis of Ypsilanti; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 1 pm from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. There will be a Scripture Service on Friday at 8 pm. Friends may call at Moore Memorial Chapel (Stark Funeral Service) On Thursday from 6 to 9 pm and Friday from 3 to 9 pm.
