John "Willard" Nofsinger, 76, of Kalkaska, passed away on Sat, Feb 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct 20, 1925, in Navarre, OH, the son of John F and Emelia (Warstler) Nofsinger. 

Willard was a veteran of the US Army. He served the country during WWII as a field medic. Willard married Anna M Woodruff in 1975 in Massillon, OH. He retired from Superior Brand Meats as a mechanic and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #92 in Massillon. Willard and Anna moved from Massillon to Kalkaska in 1986. Willard enjoyed the "great outdoors" of Michigan. 

Willard is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Anna of 26 years; children John R (Lori) Nofsinger of Kalkaska, Cheryl M Nofsinger of Massillon, Rita M Woodruff of Mancelona and Rose M Woodruff of Kalkaska; siblings, Loretta Couts of Port Washington, OH, Cleo (Wayne) Kilgore of Dover, OH, Sally (Dave) Whitmore of Navarre, OH, Milton Nofslinger of Navarre, Margaret Nofsinger of Navarre, Pauline (Lloyd) Mottice-Palmer of Kalkaska, sister in law, Kathryn Nofslinger of Kalkaska; and granddaughter, Emelia M Watkins of Mancelona. 

Willard was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Paul, and Gerald and his sister, Leona. 

Visitation was held at the Wolfe Funeral Home on Feb 25. The funeral service was conducted on Feb 26 at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Holz of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church officiated. Interment was at Excelsior Township Cemetery. 

Memorials may be given on behalf of Willard Nofsinger to North Country Hospice. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
