Jerry R. Boone, age 63, of Canton, OH passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening at the home. He had resided in Menlo Park, CA prior to returning to Canton two years ago after being away from this area for 40 years. Born in Canton, OH on Aug 16, 1942, he was a 1960 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School and a 1964 graduate of Ohio State University where he was a member of the Ohio State Alumni Association. He was a veteran, during the Vietnam Conflict, serving as a Captain in the US Army and was a member of the Retired Officer’s Association. H was a retired employee of United Airlines, retiring in 2003 after 35 years of service. He attended the First Christian Church of Canton and was a volunteer at the Canton Christian Home. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E Boone in 1984 and his mother, Vera G Boone in 2002. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman as well as a loving father, faithful brother and friend.

Survivors include his son, Chase W. Boone of Mountain View, CA, presently stationed with the Marine Corp in San Diego, CA, and his daughter, Jill R Boone of Mountain View, CA and a student at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. Three brothers and sisters in law, Charles and Pamela Boone of Alliance, OH, Don and Ledia Boone of Bremen, OH, Lonie and Patty Boone of Canton and two sisters and brothers in law, Nancy and Fred Peters of Canton and Lorie and Richard Miller of Canton. There are numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful Labrador Retriever “Ike”. Jerry was a creative family host and tour guide respected and cherished by his family whose memory will forever live on in our hearts. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him and whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be conducted Tue, Jan 3, 2006 at 1:30pm in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Minister Manley Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
