Mrs. Sylvester Clark, Brown City, Mar 17 – Mrs. Sylvester Clark, 81, pioneer resident of Maple Valley Township, died Saturday in Rogers Memorial Hospital here after a short illness.
Mrs. Clark, the former Miss Jennie S. Layman, was born Dec 9, 1869, in Richtown, Ontario. She came to this area with her parents at an early age.
She and Mr. Clark were married Dec 24, 1900 in Marlette. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year in the farm home where they have lived all their married lives.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband; a son, Allen Clark, Detroit, and a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hayward, Brown City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in the Omard Methodist Church. Rev. Mabel elder, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Omard Cemetery.
The remains are in the family home.
