Jennette "Jan" Frances Clements (Brzezinski), 87, of Dunwoody, GA, passed away Jan 13, 2020.
Jan was born Mar 3, 1932 in Traverse City, the daughter of Andrew Joseph Brzezinski II and Leocadia "Lillian" (Winowiecki) Brzezinski. She was the eldest of 13 siblings raised on the family farm in Cedar.
Jan started her 40 plus working years at Michigan Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) in Traverse City and later transferred to Grand Rapids. She also spent time in Grand Rapids with Hertz and Foremost companies.
In Grand Rapids, she met and married her lifelong love, Ernest Loyney Clements on Aug 26, 1958. The Canadian, Ernest preceded her in death in Jan of 1961 and she never remarried.
Jan devoted her life to raising their two sons, William James, born Nov 8, 1959 and Ernest Jan, born Jan 28, 1961.
Jan ensured that family included both her Brzezinski and Canadian Ernest's Clements families.
Holidays and vacations were always "family events" equally on either "side of the border" or with both sides present.
Jan is survived by her two sons, Bill and his wife, Nan Joo, and Ernest and his wife, Nan Young. Jan is also survived by her remaining Bzezinski siblings, Germaine, Nancy (Jim -deceased) Zywicki, Marci (Eric) Andrews, Linda (Tom Walter), and David (Monica).
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lillian; Brzezinski siblings, Sylvia, Ann Marie, Andy (Laura), Gary, Larry, Norma, Mary Beth (Dave) Rataj, Eleanor, Daniel (Maggie), and Joseph (Carol) Brzezinski; Ernest's parents, Garnet and Winifred (Tressler) Clements; and Clements siblings, Les, Bill, Alfred (Lavina), Alec (Sylvia-deceased), Bob (Joan), and Joy (Doug Summerville).
Jan has many nephews and nieces whom she enjoyed and loved very much. Jan has rejoined those that have predeceased her while the surviving nephews and nieces all share in our sorrow.
A private local viewing is scheduled this week prior to cremation. All family and friends will be invited to a remembrance Mass and celebration event this summer in Grand Rapids. The gathering will be a continuation of Jan's famous 70th birthday celebration that joined family and friends across the borders in a joyous event.
