James P Fenstermaker, age 84, of Westerville and Sebring, FL, formerly of Pickerington, died Fri, Jul 4, 2008, at Mt Carmel East Hospital.

Born Feb 11, 1924 in Pickerington to the late Frank and Florence (Berger) Fenstermaker. He was a graduate of Pickerington High School and Ohio State University where he graduated with honors in electrical engineering. He served in the US Navy during WWII, and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sebring, and Central College Presbyterian Church in Westerville. He retired as President and CEO of Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company and served on the board of directors of the University of Rio Grande.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, M. Jean Fenstermaker; children, Jacqueline (Gary) Covert, Pataskala, David (Peggy) Fenstermaker, Westerville, Thomas (JoAnn) Fenstermaker, Ryenoldsburg, John (Feliciana) Fenstermaker, Gaithersburg, MD; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; brother, Norman (Ann) Fenstermaker, Greensboro, NC; sisters, Patricia (Dennis) Lieb, Columbus, Kathryn Schein, Lancaster, JoAnn Blevins, AZ; brother in law, William (Ann) Ruse, Coshocton; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by brother William Fenstermaker and sister, Harriet Crampton. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Thursday at the Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Rd, Westerville, where a memorial service will follow at 2 pm. The family will also receive friends at a reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Arthur G James Cancer Hospital, 300 West Tenth Ave, Columbus, OH 43210. Arrangements by Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, Pickerington.
