James Edwin Halloway, 84, of Richmond died Sun, Jan 26, 1997 at Chippenham Hospital. Mr. Halloway was a native of Petersburg and was a son of the late James Garfield and Mabel Benson Halloway. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, WWII and a retired carpenter. He was a member of Carpenters Union #388. Mr. Halloway is survived by his wife, Florence Shea Halloway of Amelia; one daughter, Lucy H. Stell of Colonial Heights; one brother Earl Benson Halloway of Petersburg; one sister, Ida Girvan Shackelford of Enon; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Halloway was predeceased by a son, Paul Elden Halloway and one granddaughter. Graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Wed, Jan 29, 1997 at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg Tuesday from 7 to 8:30pm.
