Mrs. Iva P Brewer, 87, of Kalkaska, died Jun 4, 1998, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
She was born in Danville, IN on Jun 17, 1910, daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Ogborn Adams. On Jul 27, 1929, in Kokomo, she married Allen O. Brewer who preceded her in death on Nov 14, 1962.
Mrs. Brewer moved to Kalkaska County's Garfield Township in 1933. She was a member of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church, and enjoyed knitting, sewing, and quilting.
Surviving are sons Billy (Dorothy) Brewer of Ft. Collins, CO and James (Sherry) Brewer of East Jordan; daughter Mrs. Mable (Robert) Short of Kalkaska; grandchildren James Brewer of OK, Marsha Watson of Kalkaska, and Jesse and Steven Short, both of Traverse City; and a great grandson, Allen of OK.
A daughter, Zola, preceded her in death in 1943.
Funeral services were held Jun 8 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. William Kuiper, pastor of Evergreen Bible Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
