Mrs. Illa M. Dagenais, 86, formerly of South Boardman, died Tue, Dec 5, 1995, at Father Murray Nursing Center in Centerline. 

Mrs. Dagenais spent her early years in South Boardman, and later resided in Flint, Royal Oak, Union Lake, and Commerce Township. 

She was born in South Boardman on Sep 16, 1909, to James and Tessie Risk Petty. On Oct 22, 1927, in Flint, she married Philip Dagenais who preceded her in death on Jul 14, 1994. 

Surviving are three sons, Jack of Milford, Dallas of Waterford, and Wesley of Springhill, TN; three daughters, Betty Hart of Sunbury, OH, and Carol Pirkola and Kathy Mark both of Waterford; one brother, Keith Petty of South Boardman; one sister, Jane Johnson of South Boardman; two sisters in law, Bernadette Scriver of Livonia and Lou Dagenais of Alpena; one brother in law, James Buxton of South Boardman; 15 great grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. 

One daughter, Janice Joerin and two sons, Lawrence and David, preceded her in death. 

Funeral services were held Friday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Burial was in Boardman Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Foundation.
