Howard J. Comai, 60, of Kalkaska, died Saturday, Sept 8, 1990, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
He moved to Kalkaska from Garden City 21 years ago. He owned and operated Howard's Collision, Carol's Hall, and Carol's Bakery and Restaurant. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Kalkaska Moose Lodge 2348, Sunrise Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Comai was born in Detroit on Jan 10, 1930 to Stanley and Anna Sheko Comai. On May 28, 1949, in Taylor, he was united in marriage with Carol Kramer who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Howard J. Comai, Jr., Michael D. Comai, Larry R. Comai, David W. Comai, and William L. Comai, all of Kalkaska; four daughters, Linda D. McDowell, Carol A. Krauth, Catherine E. Comai, and Laura L. Bishop all of Kalkaska; two brothers, Richard Comai of Gladwin and John Comai of St. Helen; two sisters, Agnes McCullum of Dearborn and Shirley Salazar of Redford; and 27 grandchildren.
One sister, Loretta Nagy, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Sept 11, 1990, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
The Rosary was recited Monday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
