Howard E. Shepard, 94, of Kalkaska, passed away on May 14, 2008, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long Term Care. He was born Aug 15, 1913, in Kalkaska, the son of the late Fred and Lottie (Stoops) Shepard.
Howard married Ruby Teets on Mar 20, 1948, in Battle Creek. He retired from United Steel Wire in 1970, after 30 years of service. Together they moved to Kalkaska in 1973. Howard enjoyed fishing and hunting. Howard is survived by his nephew Raymond (Jenny) Shepard of Battle Creek; 5 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; and 10 great great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife Ruby; and his siblings, Bethel Pomerink, Raymond Shepard, and Elta Shepard.
There will be a graveside service on Fri, May 16, 2008 at 11 am at Lodi Cemetery. Pastor Bill Kuiper of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church will be officiating.
