Howard D. Mason, 71, of Hobart, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 21, 1990 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.
Mr. Mason lived in Downers Grove, Ill. prior to moving to Hobart. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, and was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service.
Mr. Mason was born in Kalkaska on January 12, 1919, son of the late Howard S. and Alviria Wygent Mason. On May 25, 1946, in Oak Park, Ill., he was married to Marie B. Huck who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Rossi of Hobart, Ind.; four brothers, Royden Mason of Saginaw, Milton Mason of Hastings, Alva Mason of Parma, and Walter Mason of Chicago, Ill; four sisters, Lois Slocum of Neebish Island, Agatha Hafler of Niles, Ill., Zora Runion of Warsaw, Ky., and Lorna Grow of Alexandia, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Aug. 25, 1990, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
