Howard C. Kiser, 94, of Kalkaska, died Saturday night, Feb 15, 1991 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Kiser moved to Kalkaska in 1975 from Warren. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWI, and was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Kiser was born in Dickinson County, Virginia on Sept 4, 1896, son of the late Edom and Sylvia Sutherland Kiser. On March 31, 1925, in Clintwood, Virginia, he was married to Inez Counts. She died on Oct 25, 1975.
Surviving are two sons, Bill Kiser and Roger Kiser, both of Warren; two daughters, Shirley Sims of Belleville and Ann King of Kalkaska; one brother, Burton Kiser of Richmond, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Arthur, Donald, and Ken; three brothers, Jack, Homer, and Corbett; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1991 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
