Homer Malcolm Rainey, age 94, passed away on Thu, Jul 17, 2014 at Sierra Blanca Rehabilitation Center in Lakeside, AZ surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born Jan 25, 1920 in Ann Arbor, MI to Milburn and Ethel Rainey.

Homer served as an MP in the US Army during WWII in Italy. He worked as a farmer in MI for a time, then came to Tucson, AZ where he owned and operated Rainey’s Luggage and Gifts for many years. He loved Hawley Lake, where he spent a lot of time fishing and enjoying nature. He traveled to Europe and spent 2 months in Hawaii.

After he retired he spent much of his time baking cookies for everyone that he knew; he loved to just give them to people. One of his favorite things to do was to go out to eat. He loved the Lakeside area.

Homer is survived by his 4 children: Stephen Rainey, William Rainey, Lucinda Nichols, and Charmaine Koroscil; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A brother, Robert Rainey.
