Henry Kowalski, 66, of Kalkaska, died Wednesday, April 11, 1990, at Mercy Hospital in Grayling. 

Mr. Kowalski moved to Kalkaska County five years ago from Lincoln Park. He served in the U.S. Marines during WW2, and was a retired truck driver. He was member of V.F.W. Post 6896 in Detroit, Aerie 2566, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lincoln Park, and the Moose Lodge in Taylor. 

Mr. Kowalski was born in Detroit on July 13, 1923, to Stanley and Anna Kursal Kowalski. On Feb 7, 1948, in Detroit, he was married to Betty Pearson who survives. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Earl of Inkster, Michael and Robert both of Kalkaska; one daughter, Betty Ann Ricker of Munith; four brothers, Chester Poniewierski and Theodore Poniers both of Detroit, Edward Poniewierski of Royal Oak, and Mitchell Poniewierski of Taylor; 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, April 14, 1990, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska. Father Patrick Barrett officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
