Henry George Udell, 81, of Rapid City, went home to be with his Lord on Monday morning, Jul 22, 2002. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rosemary (Timmons) Udell. He is also survived by six children: Linda Robertson, Robert Udell, Mary (Ronald) Smith, David (Vickie) Udell, Tom Udell, and Cathy (Mark) Petrie; 11 grandchildren: Matt (Brandi) Robertson, Scott Udell, Boby Jo (Brad) Stanberry, Ronetta (Randy) Miller, Ryan Smith, Tiffany, Lindsay, and David Udell, Anna and Jesse Udell, Brian Hurst; and six great grandchildre: Tyler, Cody, Ryanne, Seth, Lillian, and Emily; brother, Howard and sisters, Ethel Merryman, Marie Aller, Marion (Jack) Fangboner, sister-in-law, Sarah Udell; and a host of nieces and nephews. Henry dearly loved his family, as they him. 

Henry was born to George Henry and Sarah (Sayles) Udell on Aug 1, 1920. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Udell Webber in 1973, brothers, Frank, Amos, Nelson, and Kenneth; and sisters, Bertha Purvis, Beatrice Hollenbeck, and Eva Udell. 

Henry was a Christian man and was an Elder of the Rapid City Church of Christ for many years. He also was the Scout Master in Rapid City for several years. 

He served in the US Army from Oct of 1942 to Dec of 1945. He was in WWII in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received many decorations, commendations, and citations including the Bronze Star. 

Henry will be dearly missed by his wife and all of his relatives and friends. 

His funeral service was Jul 24, 2002, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Interment was at Clearwater Township Cemetery.
