Helen May Birgy, 89, of Grayling, died Jan 27, 2002, at Grayling Mercy Hospital.
She was born on Apr 19, 1912 in Kalkaska to Ray and Lucy (Aldrich) Carlisle.
She attended Kalkaska High School. She was a homemaker and lived in Fife Lake since 1931.
Mrs. Birgy is survived by her loving family, children Ronald and Barbara Birgy, Dolly Birgy, Joyce and Clarence Hahn, Virgil and Geraldine Birgy, Otto Jay and Shirley Birgy, all of Fife Lake, and Ruth Ann Birgy of Grayling; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Clever of Saginaw and Lucille Alberts of Comstock Park; brother Kenneth and Agnes Carlisle of Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert O Birgy and brother Charles C Carlisle.
Visitation was Jan 30 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Funeral services were conducted on Jan 31 at the funeral home; Pastor Mark McCool officiated. Interment was at Garfield Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in behalf of Helen Birgy to the American Diabetes Association of the Alzheimer's Association.
