Helen M. Howard, 72, of Blue Lake Township, Kalkaska County, died Wednesday morning, Jun 3, 1992 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born May 29, 1915 in Minden City to Thomas and Eleanor (Gagner) O'Rourke.
Mrs. Howard was a registered nurse and had been employed at the Saginaw Regional Veterans Hospital, and she has lived in Bay City for 17 years.
Following her retirement, she moved to the Mancelona area in 1977.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mancelona. She enjoyed reading, walking, and she enjoyed nature.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy and her husband Dennis Quast of Mancelona; two grandchildren, Ben and Kristy Quast of Mancelona; two sisters, Frances Baldocchi of San Francisco and Nora Ellis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marie McGrath, and one brother, Tom O'Rourke.
The mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Fri, Jun 5, at 1 pm at St. Anthony's Church in Mancelona with Rev. William Zwiefka officiating.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona.
