Mrs. Helen M. Walter, 70, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Feb 19, 1994, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Walter was a 1941 graduate of Kalkaska High School, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Mrs. Walter was born in Kalkaska County on Nov 12, 1923, to Elmer and Cora Morris Cross. She was married on Feb 12, 1947, in Suttons Bay to Earnest Walter who preceded her in death on Jun 11, 1989.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Walter of Killeen, TX and Gary Walter of Traverse City; one daughter, Judy Ritola of Stotfold, England; two brothers, Allen Cross of Rapid City and Ronald Cross of Kalkaska; one sisters, Phyllis Smith of Kalkaska; four grandchildren; and one great grand daughter.
Funeral services were held Tue, Feb 22, 1994, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick Barrett officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for special intentions.
