Harry L. Johnson, 74, a lifelong resident of Clifford, passed away Monday, May 24, 2004 at his home.

He was born on December 24, 1929 in Marlette, son of the late Claude and Mabel (Robinson) Johnson.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1949.

He married Helen L. Schwerin on July 24, 1954 in Lexington, Michigan. She preceded him in death on February 1, 1994.

He worked for General Motors and Bus in Pontiac for 24 years until his retirement in 1988.

He and his wife also owned and operated the Johnson Foster Care Home for 30 years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

He is survived by five sons, Stanley Tallieu of Clifford, Joseph (Gloria) Tallieu of Coleman, Jerry (Lois) Tallieu of Luzerne, David (Dorothy) Johnson of Howell, and Dick (Theresa) Johnson of Lupton; three daughters, Betty (Tom) Cloutier of North Branch, Venetta Goss of Columbiaville and Sheila Davis of Marlette; four brothers, Jack (Wanda) Johnson of Marlette, William Johnson of Belding, Norman (Linda) Johnson of Fostoria and Marvin (Bertha) Johnson of Lapeer; a sister, Shirley Woern of Mayville, 27 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Louis; grandchildren, Mark, Julieann, Stanley, Grant and Timothy; a sister, Betty New and a brother, Daniel.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Eric Kilmer officiating. Interment was at the Marlette Cemetery.
