CHEBOYGAN - Harry J. Clark was born on April 22, 1927, the son of Willis and Anna (Robertson) Clark of Cheboygan. He peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at the age of 79. 

Harry attended Cheboygan High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II, until being discharged in July of 1946. He married Kathleen Snell on Feb. 25, 1949 in Cheboygan. 

During his lifetime he worked for Century Products, Link Industries and Cheboygan Lumber Co. He also played base fiddle in a band known as the 'Tunesters" on weekends in many Northern Michigan cities. After retirement he spent many winters in Las Vegas and sat in with several downtown bands. Music was a major part of his life and he was a huge Frank Sinatra fan. 

Survivors include Kathleen Clark of Cheboygan; daughter Candy (Larry) Wood, grandsons Kris, Clark and Casey Wood, and great-granddaughter Lily Anne Wood, all of Cheboygan; daughter Pam (Darrell) Jerden, granddaughters Jenna, Leah and Kara Jerden of Bloomington, Ind.; son Kelly (Debbie) Clark of Bloomington, Ind.; son Craig (P.J.) Clark, grandchildren Jess and Riley of Sonoma, Calif. and Kelsey of East Lansing; sister, Dode O'Connor of Indian River; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ed and Bud Clark. 

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at the Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan, with his family greeting friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services. 

In lieu of flowers, Harry's family would like memorial contributions to be directed towards Hospice of the Straits, or the Bishop Baraga School Building Fund.
