H. John VanSlooten, 66, of Kalkaska, died Monday, May 7, 1990, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. VanSlooten was a 1942 graduate of Holland High School, and moved to Kalkaska in 1958 from West Olive. He served in the Military Police in England during WW 2, and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and the Northwest Michigan Shrine Club.
Mr. VanSlooten was born in West Olive on April 18, 1924, to Frank and Helen Bouman VanSlooten.
Surviving are his mother, Helen VanSlooten of West Olive; two brothers, Marion VanSlooten and William VanSlooten both of West Olive; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 11, 1990, at the Notier, VerLee, Langland Funeral Home in Holland. Burial was in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Friends called at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska on Wednesday evening.
