Gladys Susanna Broad, 95, of Traverse City, died Mon, Jan 20, 2020. She was born on Aug 7, 1924 the daughter of Throvald and Emma (Larsen) Sorensen.
She retired from Grand Rapids Calendar, where she had worked in advertising and marketing.
Gladys was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Gladys loved to be active and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was known for giving everyone hugs when she delivered the food and was given an award for "Best Hugger."
She enjoyed knitting and gave everyone she knew one of her knitted dish cloths.
Gladys is survived by her nieces and nephews; and her stepchildren, famous country western singer George (Shelley) Broad, Robert (Jeanne) Broand, Dorothy Rongey and Russell "Butch" (Theresa) Broad.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Grelick; second husband, Ed Broad; siblings, Niel, Rosa, and Harry; and stepdaughter, Pyllis Gauthier.
Cremation has taken place, per her wishes. Private burial with her first husband, John Grelick, will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City.
