Gladys Alvena Gelinas, 92, of West Branch, died Wed, Oct 8, 2003, at West Branch Regional Medical Facility.
Alvena was born Jan 1, 1911, the daughter of John and Catherine (Brick) Green, in West Branch, where she spent most of her life.
Alvena was a homemaker and also manager of the Delquist Store in West Branch for 16 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the National Council of Catholic Women and Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council No 2022.
Surviving are daughters, Elaine Heisler of Waterford, Shirley (Don) Myas of Kalkaska, Beverly (Jim) Demerest of Grayling, Joyce (Bob) Leslie of Freeland; son Nelson (Shirley) Gelinas of Kalkaska; 21 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward; son, John; and son in law, Paul Heisler.
A funeral mass was celebrated Sat, Oct 11, at St Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Father Robert Bissot was celebrant.
Burial was in St Joseph Cemetery.
