Geraldine L Dewey, 73, of Rapid City, died Mon, Mar 10, 1997, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. She was born May 12, 1923, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of George and Marie (Tratter) Gemmeke.
She worked as a registered nurse for Meadow Brook Hospital in Bellaire and for the Traverse City State Hospital until retirement. She also served during WWII as an Army nurse cadet. She moved to Rapid City in 1956 from Peoria, IL.
She married Harold R. Ted "Dewey, who survives, Mar 23, 1968, in Alden. Also surviving are sons R. Michael (Deborah) Marois of Traverse City, Russell J Marois of Kalkaska; daughters Diana M Martin of Kalkaska, Cheryl J (Ralph) Peck of Kalkaska, Antoinette J "Tony" (Jake) Watrous of Santa Rosa, TX, Mary M. "Mimi" (Brad) Gribi of Rapid City; brother Gerald (Esther) Lestr of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Violet Klarich.
Funeral services were Thu, Mar 13, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, Rev. Douglas Beadle officiated.
Interment is in Fairview Cemetery, Custer Township.
