Frederick Hal Hillard, Jr., age 68, of Rochester, passed away March 4, 2019. Fred was born June 6, 1950 in Highland Park, MI, son of the late Frederick and Dana Hillard, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol Hillard. He is the dear father of Brad (Sarah) Hillard and Katie Hillard; proud grandfather of Aubrey, Austin, and Sloane Hillard; beloved brother of Sandra (Howard) Marderosian, Patricia DeGrazia, Martha Blanchard, Chevonne Duncan, Terri (Dave) Gordon, and Kimberly (James) Tomic; dear brother in law of Janice (David) McCatty and Gordon (Jami) Rice. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Fred graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1972. He joined Ajax Paving Industries and has been employed with them for 47 years. He was a member, and past president, of Great Oaks Country Club and resided in Rochester for 41 years. Fred enjoyed his job and golfing, but he most loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church 1011 W. University Drive, Rochester, Rev. Marc Schwichtenberg officiating. Interment to follow at Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery. He will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. The family will also receive friends Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester. If desired, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Scleroderma Foundation.
